Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress born on November 19, 1959. Over the past three decades her performance has received applauds on screen and stage. Janney was honored with several awards, among them the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She also received Seven Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she was nominated of Two Tony Awards. Janney was originally from Boston but was brought up close to Dayton the city of Dayton in Ohio. She received a scholarship to pursue a degree in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Her first television appearance was in 1999 when she appeared as C. J. Cregg on the political show NBC's The West Wing (from 1999 from 1999 to). The actress won the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the role. Janney was awarded her Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest actor in a Drama Series, after her performance as Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex. Janney is nominated to win the prestigious six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she won twice the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Shows.
